If you are trying to add FC storage to your UCS environment, you can quickly do so by connecting a storage server using FC staright into the Cisco UCS 6100 Series Fabric Interconnects. I have in the past used Openfiler, Nexenta and now use Tegile as my storage platform. Here is a quick guide to complete this task. I have already done this configuration, so most of these are just screen shots after the fact.
Create VSANs on both Fabrics Switches
In this first step, we are going to create a VSAN on fabric A (NetVSAN-A 2000) and another VSAN on fabric B (NetVSAN-B 2001). You can use any name and number you wish. The next 4 screen shots show this process. Click the “Create VSAN” link to create the VSANs.

Prepare the FC Ports for Storage
Now let us configure the ports of the Cisco UCS 6100 Series Fabric Interconnects. We will click on the desired ports and configure them as Storage Ports. We will aslo set the VSANs in this step. For fabric A ports, set the VSAN to (2000) and for switch B ports, set the VSAN to 2001. I only have a screen shot for fabric B, but the steps are identical except for the VSAN. Do this for all the ports that you will connecting to your storage server. Here are screen shots of the FC interfaces after they are configured.

Configure the Service Profile Templates
Add HBAs to the Service Profile Templates. Click the “Add” button at the end of the page to add 2 FC HBAs, (fc0 and fc1). Place fc0 on fabric A and fc1 on fabric B. The next screen shot shows how to configure the 2 HBAs.

Create the Storage Connection Policies
In this step, you will create 2 Storage Connection Policies, 1 for fabric A and 1 for fabric B. For the storage connection policy for fabric A (StorPolZoneA), create an FC Target Endpoint by clicking the plus sign on the right. Enter the WWPN of your storage server connected to fabric A. Then make sure to choose Path A and VSAN NetVSAN-A. You might have to do this more than once depending on how how many HBAs your server has. For the storage connection policy for fabric B (StorPolZoneB), create an FC Target Endpoint by clicking the plus sign on the right. Enter the WWPN of your storage server connected to fabric B. Then make sure to choose Path B and VSAN NetVSAN-B. You might have to do this more than once depending on how how many HBAs your server has.

Configure the vHBA Initiator Groups
We are almost done. Go back to the service profile template and click on the vHBA Initiator Groups. Click add on the right side of the screen and add a vHBA Initiator Group (ZoneA) ,select vHBA fc0 and select storage connection policy StorPolZoneA. Now, add another vHBA Initiator Group (ZoneB) ,select vHBA fc1 and select storage connection policy StorPolZoneB.

Confirm Your Configuration
Go to a servive profile that is bound to the service profile template we just configured and make sure you you have some entries in the FC Zones tab. You should see the target’s WWPNs listed.

Configure Your Storage Server
Now use the 2 WWPN assigned to each Service Profile to configure your storage device. Allocate some LUNs to these WWPNs.
