If you have Cisco Wireless Lan Controllers (WLC) version 7.4 and newer, there is a nice new feature called “Application Visibility” that you can turn on per SSID. There are only a few steps to enable this feature and get visibility into your wireless network. You must do this on every WLC in your network to get full visibility.
First, go to your WLC and enable the feature. Choose the WLAN you would like to monitor.

Drill into the desired WLAN then QOS and enable the “Application Visibility” checkbox. That is it.

Now, goto MONITOR and click on Applications then select the WLAN that you want to view

Voila, you have visibility into your WLAN through your WLC.
